Wigan Warriors v Hull FC Challenge Cup team news as 7 out and 4 doubts

Wigan Warriors v Hull FC with Abbas Miski a doubt

Wigan Warriors v Hull FC face each other in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup on Saturday night and both sides have several injury concerns.

Despite round 1’s 1-0 loss to Leigh, Wigan’s season has got off to a strong start, with victories over Hull FC, Warrington Wolves in Las Vegas and Huddersfield last week. Warriors coach Matt Peet has a fairly strong squad to choose from still, with just a couple of players missing on the injury front.

It’s been a dream start to 2025 for Hull FC and their fans, with five points from a possible eight so far in the Super League. Last week’s 22-all draw against Leigh Leopards showed just how much they’ve improved since last season. However, the Black and Whites still have significant injury worries with another forward requiring surgery this week.

Here’s a round-up of the team news for Wigan Warriors v Hull FC.

Wigan Warriors v Hull FC team news

Wigan Warriors team news

The Warriors have a couple of doubts going into their fourth-round Challenge Cup tie with Hull FC.

Both Abbas Miski and Patrick Mago missed last week’s win over Huddersfield. Miski felt swelling from an old injury on the flight back home from Las Vegas so was given the week off to recover.

Mago has been suffering from illness after a sickness bug throughout his family finally caught up with him too. Wigan are still without Ethan Havard and Brad O’Neill, who are mid- to long-term injuries, so won’t play for a significant time.

Hull FC team news

New recruit Oliver Holmes has undergone surgery on a knee injury and will be out for some time. The former Leigh Leopard has yet to feature for the Black and Whites following his move in the off-season.

Sam Eseh and Liam Watts are both unavailable for this Challenge Cup tie, with Eseh ineligible due to his loan from Wigan and Watts being Cup-tied.

In better news for Hull FC fans, Zak Hardaker could return from a groin injury, which has seen him miss the last three games. Ed Chamberlain could also return to the squad after missing last week’s win following a failed HIA against Huddersfield. Ligi Sao, Davy Litten, Jack Charles and Matty Laidlaw are all out for the foreseeable future.

Wigan Warriors v Hull FC in the Challenge Cup can be seen live on the BBC on Saturday 15th March with a 5:45pm kick-off time.

The Warriors have also cut adult admission prices for the game to just £10, with more information here.
