Wigan Warriors star Bevan French is reportedly set to meet with two other clubs ahead of a potential move for 2023.
Those two clubs are, according to the Daily Telegraph, the Parramatta Eels and Canterbury Bulldogs.
French still has a year left on his Wigan deal and is prepared to fulfil his piece of the contractual bargain, but wants to return to Australia at the end of 2022 to be with his ill mother, the newspaper has reported.
The livewire fullback’s manager, Allan Gainey, has said that him and French will be meeting with Parramatta and Canterbury for ‘informal’ chats.
“Bevan is committed to going back but I have two clubs that want to talk to him about 2023,” Gainey said.
“We are sourcing interest for 2023 because he does want to make his way back to Australia. Bevan is a cult hero over there in Wigan.”
French played 47 games for Parramatta between 2016 and 2019, but endured an injury-hit campaign in 2021 following a serious hamstring injury and has spent most of the back end of 2021 in Australia doing important rehab work.
The 25-year-old and Wigan have a superb relationship with Gainey revealing that French is determined to go one better with the Warriors in 2021, but the former Parramatta man wants a return to Australia for 2023.
“He wants to go back to England and tear them apart,” Gainey continued.
“Bevan is very loyal to Wigan given they have been very understanding of his mother’s situation.
“He is very appreciative. If he were to get to Sydney this week, I have arranged for him to meet up with two clubs and have an informal chat.”

He will join the new NRL team for when they enter the league, the Dolphins or whatever they’re called.
