It’s fair to say, Premier Sports have been a breath of fresh air since they made their way into rugby league this season.
Host Emma Jones, pundits Leon Pryce and Kevin Brown and commentator Mark Wilson have all been thoroughly impressive and have given the sport a new lease of life on television.
Well, that view is shared wide and far and one player who was present for Wigan Warriors’ victory over Salford Red Devils last night – John Bateman – agrees too.
Bateman tweeted: “For me after watching the game back. @PremierSportsTV are doing a class job promoting rugby league and itβs good to have commentators that promote and enjoy calling the games. Well done, keep it up.”

Bateman himself was in scintillating form last night, scoring a try and having a hand in others – and it was even more impressive considering he was shifted from back-row to centre following the injury to Kai Pearce-Paul.
Pearce-Paul, a London Broncos project, was taken from the field early in the first-half after going down with a groin injury.
Wigan eventually ran out 20-0 winners over Salford Red Devils after going in at 14-0 at half-time and they will be waiting with anticipation to see who they face in the Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals.
That draw will be made during half-time of the clash between Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers live on the BBC today.
