Wigan Warriors set to make shock swoop for Super League forward

Wigan Warriors are set to swoop on shock Super League forward, according to Sky Sports pundit Jenna Brooks.

The Warriors lifted the Challenge Cup last week for the 20th time and are likely to add to that squad with a Warrington Wolves forward.

Mike Cooper has been linked with a number of clubs, including Huddersfield Giants, but it’s Wigan that are reportedly leading the chase according to Brooks.

And, she confirmed that the Warriors have indeed outlined their interest in Cooper.

It confirms a huge rebuild under Daryl Powell as Warrington boss with the likes of Chris Hill and Ellis Robson already leaving whilst Josh Charnley and Cooper are heading for the exit at the end of 2022.

Warrington have already signed Thomas Mikaele, Gil Dudson and Sam Kasiano for 2023, though Mikaele is set to arrive in the near future to take to the field this season.

Meanwhile, it would be Wigan’s first confirmed signing for 2023 and beyond if the news is revealed in the near future, though Jake Bibby is expected to depart for Huddersfield for next season.
