Wigan Warriors man included in Lebanon squad alongside star NRL halfback

World Cup squads keep coming in ahead of Shaun Wane’s squad announcement tomorrow morning.

After the likes of Samoa, Jamaica and Scotland named their squads this week, Lebanon have followed suit after battling with England in the last World Cup down under in 2017.

Hoping to better in 2022, Lebanon have named a 24-man squad that they hope will lead them to a better tournament.

They have included one Super League star in their squad in the shape of winger Abbas Miski. Miski hasn’t been first choice for the Warriors in 2022 after making the move from London ahead of this season.

That said, when he has played Miski hasn’t looked out of place scoring quite frequently on the wing and could be an exciting option on the wing in 2023 as Matt Peet continues to develop him.

The rest of the squad is dominated by NRL players with 11 NRL players from 8 NRL clubs included. Meanwhile. the other 12 players are from other teams in Australia whilst Reece Robinson is included despite not being attached to a club at present.

The biggest name is of course star NRL halfback Mitchell Moses who has guided Parramatta to the NRL Grand Final.

Deserving of playing for Australia, Nathan Cleary and Daly Cherry-Evans mean that is unlikely so he can catch the eye for Lebanon instead.
