Wigan Warriors legend Martin Offiah has confirmed that his son Phoenix has signed with a Premier League football club.
It’s clear that Offiah’s freakish sporting ability runs in the family given that just last year his other son Tyler signed a professional rugby union contract after rejecting a deal to sign with Wigan Warriors. Instead, Tyler signed a three-year deal with Bath Rugby having played for England’s under-18s at the Six Nations in 2024.
Now, younger brother Phoenix is realising his dreams in another sport after his father took to social media to reveal that he has signed a deal with Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspurs.
Posting on his Instagram account, martin_chariots_offiah, the former Wigan Warriors legend said: “Another proud day in the Offiah household as @phoenixoffiah signs for @spursofficial seven months after his brother @tyler_offiah signed for @bathrugby. The hard work starts now my boy.”
The accompanying images showed Phoenix signing a contract with two of his Tottenham coaches along with an image of Tyler signing for Bath.

Previously, Tyler had played rugby league for Richmond Warriors and the speedster did not rule out a return to the 13-man code when speaking to the Daily Telegraph back when he signed for Bath.
Outlining his ambitions, he said: “One of my aims is to be better than Dad. That’s definitely a driver for me.
“I’m definitely very ambitious, I’ve got all my goals written down in a journal. They include playing for the senior England side, going on a British and Irish Lions tour, and becoming the highest try-scorer in Premiership history.”
On rugby league, he said: “I watch a lot of NRL games and I’m a Brisbane Broncos fan, so if that’s ever an option in the future then it’s definitely something I would consider.”
With Tyler setting the bar high with his ambitions, you’d expect that Phoenix also wants to move into the elite of his own sport – something he is in line to do having signed with Tottenham.
Wigan Warriors legend Offiah is not the only rugby league great to have a son go down the football route as a career with Kylie Leuluai’s son Marley signing for Burnley in 2023.
