Wigan Warriors’ Kaide Ellis and Catalans Dragons star Jordan Dezaria receive huge bans

Catalans Dragons’ Jordan Dezaria and Wigan Warriors’ Kaide Ellis have been banned for three and five matches respectively for throwing punches during their sides’ Betfred Super League clash in Perpignan last Saturday.

Both players had been charged with a Grade E offence, described as ‘Punching – sustained and repeated or violent  – makes contact with the head of an opponent’.

Ellis was found guilty as charged, while Dezaria saw the grading of his offence reduced to grade C. Both players were also fined £500.

The following players accepted the penalty notices imposed at Monday’s Match Review Panel.

Ellis Robson, Toulouse Olympique (Grade B – Dangerous Contact) – 1 match

Brad Singleton, Wigan Warriors (Grade B – Late Hit on passer) – 2 matches

Ashley Sice, Newcastle Thunder (Other contrary behaviour) – 1 match

Sam Stone, Leigh Centurions (Grade A – Late hit on passer) – 0 matches

Adam Tangata, Halifax Panthers (Late hit on passer) – 0 matches

Tom Walker, Whitehaven (Grade B – Dangerous Throw) – 1 match

Matthew Wildie, Featherstone Rovers (Late hit on passer) – 1 match
