Wigan Warriors fullback Jai Field leaves field with injury

Wigan Warriors have been hit with a massive injury blow as fullback Jai Field exited the field during their match against Hull FC.

The Warriors star left the field after only twenty minutes and it was later confirmed in commentary to be a hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old had scored Wigan’s second try in the ninth minute but pulled up following their third try, scored by Junior Nsemba.

The fullback went straight down the tunnel for treatment.

It could be a flair-up of a previous injury as Field has had lay-offs with hamstring issues before.

Wigan have been fairly lucky with injuries this season so far and whilst they have a big enough squad to cover him, it would still be a massive blow for the Champions.

Bevan French moved to the fullback position against Hull FC with Liam Farrell slotting into the halves and Sam Walters replacing Field on the pitch.

Field was recently named Super League Player of the Month for February and was hoping to follow up a spectacular 2024 season.

Wigan Warriors would definitely miss his attacking prowess, having scored five tries in four Super League appearances in 2025.

Field was later seen on the sidelines fully dressed supporting his side.

It remains to be seen the extent of his injury but Warriors fans will be hoping that it’s not too serious.

We’re sure to learn more on Jai Field’s injury over the coming days.
