Wigan Warriors’ forgotten signing set for debut

Matt Peet has named his 21-man squad for Thursday’s Betfred Super League Round 11 clash with Hull FC at the MKM Stadium.

The Wigan Head Coach has named his 21-man squad for Thursday’s fixture. Willie Isa misses out through suspension, whilst Kaide Ellis misses out through injury as confirmed by Matt Peet following the victory over Wakefield.

Iain Thornley comes into the 21 after appearing for the Reserves at the weekend, as well as Ryan Hampshire who made his return from a long-term injury in the Reserves victory.

Hampshire returned to the club at the start of this season as the Warriors’ last signing before the new season from the Castleford Tigers having worked hard to recover from a nasty injury picked up at the Jungle last year.

The Tigers should be commended for the work they did with his rehab and now the Warriors as well.

Ironically, another former Castleford Tigers star Jake Trueman is set for a debut after an injury and a big move to a Super League club.

He will be up against Hampshire’s Wigan side on Thursday as he returns from injury to finally make his debut as the two sides collide on Sky Sports on Thursday.
