Wigan Warriors fan set to take on amazing challenge to raise money for Joining Jack and Motor Neurone Disease Association

Throughout 2020 and 2021, the rugby league world has been blown away by the challenges taken on in the name of charity.

Kevin Sinfield has gone above and beyond for former teammate Rob Burrow running seven marathons in seven days in 2020 and running 101 miles in 24 hours in 2021.

Wigan fan Martyn Clarke took on seven half ironman triathlons in seven days last year to raise money in the fight against MND whilst plenty of others have also taken on massive challenges to raise money for MND charities, for Mose Masoe, the Steve Prescott Foundation and plenty of other charities.

One charity that has been important to the rugby league community for a decade, however, has been Joining Jack which aims to raise money and awareness to take on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy after a eight-year-old Jack was diagnosed with the disease in October 2011.

Like Joining Jack, MNDA has become so important to rugby league fans following Rob Burrow’s diagnosis at the end of 2019.

So, with a view of raising money for these two fantastic charities, Wigan fan Ellie Turner is taking on a 15,000 feet skydive in June over Grange-Over-Sands.

The Wigan Warriors season ticket holder has had the ambition of doing a skydive for years and now intends to take on this wild challenge whilst also raising money and awareness for two charities close to her heart and important to rugby league fans across the country.

She’s already raised close to half of her target and you can still donate here.
