Wigan Warriors’ DW Stadium targeted yet again by vandals

Wigan Warriors Stadium the DW Stadium

Wigan Warriors’ DW Stadium has been hit with vandals several times in the past few years.

And, another window has been shattered on the glass frontage of the DW Stadium barely a week after it had previously, according to Wigan Today.

It’s the latest in a series of bizarre attacks on the home of Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors.

The stadium was hit by vandals back in November 2021 – which was the third time it had happened that year.

A stadium spokesperson said at the time: “We were disappointed that the DW Stadium was again subject to vandalism on Sunday, and we have reported the damage to the police.

“Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the stadium has been subject to this kind of vandalism in the past 12 months, which is especially frustrating as we continue to look to invest in improvements to the stadium.”

A window was smashed in November 2020, but that wasn’t the first time it had happened as a hefty bill had to be picked up in January that year with vandals costing the club tens of thousands of pounds in repairs.

The DW Stadium was again targeted in July last year.

The criminal damage is believed to have been inflicted last Sunday and anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact police by calling 101.

Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously by ringing 0800 555 111.

It’s not “Wigan Warriors DW stadium”
They’re tenants in a football stadium.
