Wigan Warriors have sent talented young duo Noah Hodkinson and Taylor Kerr on loan to the Championship.
Hodkinson has joined up with Widnes Vikings for the next two weeks, while Kerr has made the move to London Broncos for the same amount of time. The pair both represented the Warriors‘ first-team over pre-season with outings coming at Oldham and Leeds Rhinos, and have recently made the step up into with Matt Peet’s first-team environment.
However, with opportunities looking hard to come by at the Brick Community Stadium at this point of the season, the pair have been allowed to leave on loan.
Hodkinson will be looking to make his debut for the Vikings against Sheffield Eagles, while Kerr has joined the Broncos, where Lukas Mason and Kian McDermott have spent the last month, in time to feature against Featherstone Rovers.
John Duffy, Wigan Warriors’ transition coach told the club website: “Noah and Taylor impressed the coaching staff with their performances in friendlies against Oldham and Leeds, and again just this weekend against Castleford for the reserves.
“This is a great opportunity for Noah and Taylor to continue their development in a tough competition.”
Widnes Vikings head coach Allan Coleman commented on the addition of Hodkinson: “Noah is a talented young lad, I’ve followed him since he was 10/11 years-old down at Leigh Miners.
“He is very highly rated at Wigan. He played against Oldham in a friendly a few weeks ago, a game that I attended, and he caused so many problems.
“He’s got electrifying pace, he’s very brave and just really plays on the front foot. I’m really excited to get him on board and I think straight away people will see what he brings to the team.”
