Wigan Warriors head coach Matty Peet knows his side faces a big challenge when Hull FC come to the DW Stadium on Thursday night.
Hull are coming back into this fixture on the back of a 58-12 drubbing of Sheffield Eagles in the Challenge Cup Sixth Round, but the Black and Whites have also seen an upturn in form in the league too.
Brett Hodgson’s men have recorded impressive wins over Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants and Peet knows the danger that the Black and Whites possess.
“I think they are an excellent squad, they’re getting back to full strength now. They combine massive forwards and skilful backs,” Peet said.
“Hull are coming here to win. They know that they’re expected to come here and put on a performance, and they’re capable of that. It’s a massive challenge for us.”
Peet also gave an update on Bevan French, who will be playing in the Cherry and White of Wigan for the first time in 2022.
“Bevan will play. He’s an exciting and unpredictable player but we won’t be expecting too much from him this week. We just want him back on the field and to compete.”
