Wigan Warriors, just a week after the Challenge Cup Final, have been able to accrue another two points in Super League with a superb win over Castleford Tigers.
The Warriors were down 12-0 after the first 25 minutes, but managed to register 32 unanswered points to back up brilliantly from the joy of Tottenham.
And, for head coach Matt Peet, this victory was very important to him and the club.
“I’m really proud of that one, for the team and where we want to be as a group, we want to pick those off,” Peet told Channel 4 after the game.
“We’ve not quite been there sometimes, but the commitment for 80 minutes delights me.
“I thought after the first 15-20 minutes we played really well particularly the lads that have come in like Oliver Partington and Willie Isa.
“We have shown we have some strength in depth it shows the commitment in the group and the supporters deserve a special mention.”
Peet was also asked about Liam Marshall’s chances of playing for England at the World Cup at the end of the year.
“He’s playing well for Wigan and the rest will take care of itself, but the more England players playing well the better for the World Cup.”
