Wigan Warriors’ Bevan French reportedly close to deal for 2023

Bevan French has become one of the most electric signings in Super League history.

With the ability to spot a gap in an instant and with incredible pace and agility, French can destroy a rival side in seconds.

There is no wonder, therefore, that his services are in demand, but Wigan Warriors head coach Matt Peet wants to see French stay at the DW Stadium.

And, French is reportedly close to a deal for the 2023 season.

Sky Sports pundit Jenna Brooks revealed on Sky Sports: “There are hopes that the Wigan back will remain at the club and he is said to be close.

“They hope that he does remain but there is still an attraction for him to return home.”

Head coach Matt Peet had spoken of his desire to keep the Australian at the club for 2023.

He said: “We are in constant communication with Bevan,” Peet told Wigan Today.

“They’re not very complicated discussions, they are just open and honest. We know where his head is at, and he knows where we are at, so we will just continue to talk.

“We will probably sit down again soon and make it a bit more formal.”

French will be on show for the Warriors against Toulouse Olympique tomorrow night as he returns to rugby league action after missing the Combined Nations All Stars fixture against England last weekend.
