Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves confirm Dublin Super League fixture as full details revealed

The Super League game in Dublin between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves has officially been confirmed, and it will take place on April 24 2027.

Taking place at the Laya Arena, home of Leinster Rugby Union, both the Warriors and Wolves continue to help Super League grow, after the pair were the first two sides to join the NRL in Las Vegas in 2025.

With Wigan being the home side that day, it meant that they lost a home fixture, and the subsequent revenue that followed, so this time it will be Warrington who take the hit, but it will no doubt be worth it for what will be another brilliant advert for Super League.

With the Dublin game one of Super League’s worst-kept secrets, it was common knowledge that the event would take place, and the logistics and full details have now been revealed.

The game will take place one week before Magic Weekend, which will again be held at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, and Super League fans will get the opportunity to use the recently re-opened Irish stadium, which has a capacity exceeding 20,000.

Laya Arena sits in the heart of Dublin, and has undergone a €52 million transformation. It officially reopens today [5 August] with the prestigious Dublin Horse Show, and is among Europe’s most modern sporting venues, delivering state-of-the-art facilities, outstanding hospitality and an electric atmosphere that makes it the perfect arena.

Dublin to host its first-ever Super League fixture as Wigan and Warrington confirm trip

Commenting on the announcement, Warrington CEO Karl Fitzpatrick said: “This is another landmark moment for our club, for Super League and for the sport of Rugby League.

“Following the success of the Las Vegas and Paris projects, and the appetite shown for taking our game to new audiences, Dublin is the perfect next destination. “This is about much more than 80 minutes of Rugby League. It’s an opportunity to create another unforgettable experience for our supporters, attract new audiences and continue building the profile of Super League beyond its traditional heartlands.

“Our fans have a fantastic reputation for travelling in huge numbers, and we’re excited to see thousands of Wire supporters turn Dublin primrose and blue next April as they become part of history.”
