Wigan Warriors and Hull KR team news as both name strong sides for Challenge Cup

Each of Wigan Warriors and Hull KR have named their squads for Round Three of the Challenge Cup with both Super League sides facing lower league opposition on Friday night.

The new format for the Challenge Cup has ensured that all Super League sides face lower league opposition with the intention being that they would also play away from home, however, that is not the case for all teams.

Goole Vikings have ceded home advantage to play at the DIY Kitchens Stadium on Saturday with the new League One club one of four teams to do so this round, alongside three of the competition’s remaining amateur clubs.

As for Wigan Warriors, they will travel to face Sheffield Eagles who famously beat Wigan in the 1998 Challenge Cup Final whilst Hull KR face York Knights for the second time in a fortnight having played Mark Applegarth’s side in the Amsterdam Challenge.
