Upon signing for the Hornets, Rochdale chairman Andy Mazey said: “Fenton is a player Matt and I have discussed numerous times and I know Matt really admires. He’s highly rated at Huddersfield so it’s a boost to be able to welcome him to Hornets as we look to keep building on a solid start to the campaign. Big thanks must go to Ian Watson and Andy Kelly for enabling this deal to happen.”

Meanwhile, former Super League forward Pauli Pauli has also been banned for dangerous contact whilst ex-Featherstone Rovers man Dane Chisholm has been found guilty of a high tackle.

Jack Teanby of York has also been cautioned for other contrary behaviour which seems to be an increasing charge in the world of rugby league at the moment.
