Wigan Warriors star Harry Smith has described a “whirlwind” week, before his side’s League Leaders’ Shield victory – due to a special moment for him and his family.
His side won the trophy thanks to a 64-0 thumping on Thursday night against a depleted Salford Red Devils side, marking yet another trophy in Matt Peet’s Wigan tenure.
The week before, they also nilled Brad Arthur’s Leeds Rhinos, setting themselves up for the trophy, and Harry Smith starred in the halves with Bevan French.
A day later, his life was to change, as he and his partner Chloe welcomed a baby into the world the very next day.

Speaking to club media, Smith said: “It’s been a whirlwind of a week trying to get sleep, but I managed a lie in yesterday morning which was nice.
“It’s been an amazing experience becoming a father and I’ve really enjoyed the first week which is a credit to my partner, Chloe.
“To get on the right side of the result tonight and win the League Leaders’ was the cherry on top of the cake.”
It’s a remarkable achievement for the Warriors, lifting the title for the second successive season, and he added: “We spoke this week about how this Club hadn’t achieved back-to-back League Leaders before so to be able to add a further bit of history on top of what we’ve already achieved this year is amazing.
“We just want to keep creating and experiencing these moments with our teammates.”
Now, Smith and his teammates will be looking towards some rest, ahead of a semi-final clash against one of the eliminator winners.
From there, they could certainly create some more special moments, with a potential Grand Final on the horizon – and from there, a potential World Club Challenge clash.
