Wigan star deserving of “one red and three yellows” as fans call for “eight week ban” – How social media reacted to St Helens’ win over Wigan

Last night, St Helens laid down a marker with a 26-2 victory over Wigan. The resounding win left plenty of question marks over the Warriors and their title hopes. They’ll now look to get back on track next week against Leeds. Well that’s my opinion anyway, but how did the rugby league world see the game? How did social media react?

Regan Grace was the talk of the town after he opened the scoring finishing off a neat blind side play. He himself had given the Saints the position to attack to begin with thanks to a blistering break. Unsurprisingly, he again received huge plaudits.

Ultimately, he left Wigan fans devastated by what he was able to do to their team. They also felt a certain second-row was allowed to get on top of them as well.

However, the star man was youngster Lewis Dodd. He came up with a savvy try when he nicked the ball under the sticks to steal a score but was outstanding throughout.

He certainly wasn’t alone with plenty handing praise to the Saints pack. James Bentley was a standout coming up with one of the moments of the match when he floored John Bateman.

His antics on the field were certainly endearing him to his future club and their supporters.

As Bentley earned rave reviews despite being handed a yellow card, another of the sin binned stars wasn’t given the same treatment. Many thought Willie Isa should’ve perhaps been shown a red long before he was eventually sin binned for a high tackle.

One fan felt he was deserving of at least four cards throughout the game as the match reached boiling point.

If Willie Isa is singled out! as a neutral, how about St Helens James Bentley? the second consecutive match he has been like a Bull in a China shop, with anger, and nasty! How long suspension for him. All round, it was the worst game I have seen all season, and the referee and video referee should take blame as well as the players! a complete turn off, I did well before the end.
