Wigan recruitment update as NRL stars pop into sight

Though Wigan head coach Adrian Lam has confirmed that the Warriors will not be signing prop Renouf Atoni, he is still keen to add to his squad from overseas.

Wigan Warriors head coach Adrian Lam has confirmed the club will not be signing prop Renouf Atoni.

Reports in Australia emerged earlier this week linking the Warriors with a move for the Canterbury Bulldogs ace, who is off-contract at the end of the season.

The Mole claimed Atoni had been offered a big deal to sign for the Warriors, with the offer on the table one that the Bulldogs would be unable to compete with.

However, sources at the DW Stadium indicated that Atoni was not on their radar and would not be joining the club.

“At this stage, we have had no offers to him,” said Lam.

“It always happens at this time of year as rumours surface of players coming and going.

“But I’m sure we are communicating with as many people as we can to help out and prepare for the rest of this year and next year.”
