Widnes winger faces lengthy ban for abusive language towards official

The incident that saw Jack Owens sent off in Friday’s Challenge Cup tie between Widnes and Wakefield has been referred to a tribunal.

Owens was shown a red card in the 64th minute for using foul and abusive language towards a match official in the game at the Mobile Rocket Stadium.

The RFL’s Match Review Panel have charged the Vikings’ winger with a Grade D offence which carries a ban of between three & five matches.
