Denive Balmforth (Hull FC Academy) – Grade A High Tackle – 0 Match Penalty Notice
Ethan Lyne (Huddersfield Academy) – Grade D Dangerous Throw – Refer to Tribunal
Jeffrey Maddox (Wigan Academy) – Grade E Dangerous Throw – Refer to Tribunal
Now, though, it has been revealed just why Maddox could be given a five-match ban if found guilty a the Operational Rules Tribunal. Maddox was cited as: “Law 15.1 (d) Dangerous Throw – Driving player into the ground on head or neck Grade E”
His opponent in that game, Ethan Lyne, also faces a lengthy ban after being referred to a tribunal for a Grade D incident with the Disciplinary Match Review Panel citing: “Law 15.1 (d) Dangerous Throw – Lifting player into a dangerous throw Grade D.”
With the Operational Rules Tribunal set to take place tomorrow, it will be interesting to see what outcome is reached.
Meanwhile, Balmforth of Hull FC was cited with: “Law 15.1 (b) High Tackle – Careless – Ball Carrier Dips Grade A.” However, the hooker will not be given a ban due to his previous good record.
Balmforth, of course, signed from Warrington Wolves at the beginning of the 2022 season and has even enjoyed appearances for Hull’s first-team with much expected of the teenager for the future and beyond.
