Following the outcome of yesterday’s Match Review Panel, one notable omission from the findings was Castleford Tigers centre Louis Senior, who received a sin-bin in the club’s defeat to Leigh on Saturday.
Senior caught Leopards full-back David Armstrong high, but the Australian was falling forwards and rapidly losing height, something that referee Liam Rush acknowledged when flashing the yellow.
It was labelled an extremely harsh yellow card at the time, with Tigers boss Ryan Carr explaining his frustrations post-match. However, he refused to say too much at the risk of receiving a fine, something that has already occurred this season.
Now though, it looks like Carr had every right to be annoyed, with Senior failing to receive a charge, let alone a ban, from this week’s disciplinary.
Carr was left perplexed by what his player could have possibly done differently. “I honestly can’t tell him what to do. I don’t know,” he admitted.
“He’s like six foot six and was dipping his knees down as low as he possibly could. It was like below this table height where it happened. I don’t know. I don’t understand that at all.
“I need to get some clarification on it, I suppose. But what is it? After the game, clarification, it’s gone, mate. The two points, it’s gone, unfortunately.”
As for the prospect of an apology from the officiating department in the coming days, Carr was clear: “I don’t really care, mate. I don’t really care. Like, what does that do? What does that do? I just… Yeah, I don’t care.”

Because Senior lowered his height enough, a normal tackle would have been made had Armstrong not fallen. The full-back fell into the shoulder, as opposed to Senior making illegal contact.
