Why Carlos Tuimavave and Kane Evans missed out for Hull FC against Wigan Warriors

When Hull FC boss Brett Hodgson named his 17-man squad for tonight’s game against Wigan Warriors, there were two notable absentees.

Neither Kane Evans nor Carlos Tuimavave were in the team, with Jenna Brooks revealing that both had missed with slight calf issues.

With Luke Gale back in the halves following a five-match ban there was also a question mark over who he would replace.

With Ben McNamara a natural halfback and Joe Lovodua a utility man, it was thought that the former would get the nod.

However, Hodgson named Lovodua alongside Gale in the halves with Mitieli Vulikijapani replacing Carlos Tuimavave at centre.

Connor Wynne is also on the bench – presumably on there in case there is an injury amongst the backs.
