Who has the best goalkicking stats in Super League? – St Helens, Castleford Tigers and Wigan Warriors included

Being a good goalkicker is imperative in the modern day rugby league era.

Having someone that is able to get an extra two points is vital, especially in a close game that is decided by a couple of points either way.

The likes of Kevin Sinfield and Pat Richards have been trailblazers in the past, but who has taken on that mantle now?

Up first, are the players with the most conversions or penalties in the league:

Goals

1 Gareth O’Brien (Castleford Tigers) 30
2 Marc Sneyd (Salford Red Devils) 28
3 Tommy Makinson (St Helens) 26
4 = Rhyse Martin (Leeds Rhinos) 24
Stefan Ratchford (Warrington Wolves) 24
6 = Zak Hardaker (Wigan Warriors) 20
Harry Smith (Wigan Warriors) 20
8 Chris Hankinson (Toulouse Olympique) 19
9 Sam Tomkins (Catalans Dragons) 17
10 Oliver Russell (Huddersfield Giants) 14

Now, sometimes it isn’t about how many goals you can actually make, it’s more often than not about accuracy.

And, that list is entirely different to the one above.

Goals Percentage

1 Harry Smith (Wigan Warriors) 95.23 (20/21)
2 Mason Lino (Wakefield Trinity) 84.61 (11/13)
3 Max Jowitt (Wakefield Trinity) 81.25 (13/16)
4 = Stefan Ratchford (Warrington Wolves) 80.00 (24/30)
Zak Hardaker (Wigan Warriors) 80.00 (20/25)
Luke Gale (Hull FC) 80.00 (8/10)
7 Ben McNamara (Hull FC) 78.57 (11/14)
8 Marc Sneyd (Salford Red Devils) 77.77 (28/36)
9 Sam Tomkins (Catalans Dragons) 77.27 (17/22)
10 Will Pryce (Huddersfield Giants) 76.47 (13/17)
