Whitehaven have announced the re-signing of Scotland international Brett Phillips for 2021.
The 31-year-old joined the club ahead of 2019 having had a year out of the sport, but had previously spent six years playing for Cumbrian rivals Workington.
The back rower has also represented Scotland on 14 occasions, including at the 2013 World Cup.
“I’m happy to sign for another year at Whitehaven,” Phillips said. “The squad looks to be taking shape nicely and I’m excited to get back to training.”
Whitehaven assistant coach Jonty Gorley added: “It’s great to have Brett on board again for next season. He brings a wealth of experience, having played in the Championship previously and also at International level with Scotland.
“Brett is a leader, talks well and someone who helps steady us on the pitch. Add to that his size, and how he plays the game, Brett is a massive asset for us.”
