Championship club Whitehaven have announced their first game back at the Recreation Ground will be free to NHS staff.
Rugby League is currently suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, one thing that has remained constant, is the respect for the hard work of the NHS.
In a short statement, they say: “It’s not just rugby league doing it tough at the moment. Coronavirus has seen all sense of normality go for a lot of us.
“One aspect of life that has remained is the dedication and hard work of our National Health Service, many of who have sacrificed time and living with their own loved ones to fight for our loved ones in this pandemic.
“We know this may be a while away yet but when rugby league does return to the Recreation Ground we are proud to offer for our first home fixture free entry to all NHS staff.”
