Toulouse Olympique will welcome Corey Norman into France very soon.
The 31-year-old Australian half, who last season played with the St George Illawarra Dragons in the NRL, has signed a deal until the end of the 2022 Super League season.
It was with the Brisbane Broncos’ under-20s that Corey made his debut in 2009, winning the title of ‘Broncos Back of the Year’.
It was with the Brisbane Broncos where he began his professional career, spending four seasons at the club and playing 63 games and accumulating 56 points. He continued in the NRL with the Parramatta Eels from 2014 to 2019 (five seasons – 106 games – 65 points) before joining the St George Illawara Dragons – in three seasons, he made 59 appearances.
In total, Corey Norman has 228 NRL games under his belt. He was also called up for Queensland in a match of ‘State of Origin’ in 2019, an Australian competition which sees the best players of its provinces compete in a series of three meetings.
And, good news for Toulouse fans – he will arrive on Thursday and could slot straight into the side despite having been retired for months.
“He will bring a lot of experience, he’s a very smart attacking player they need something,” Wilkin said.
“They are struggling at the moment and need a spark, so he will bring something new and defensively he is great too.
“Toulouse are leaking too many points, maybe he will help there.”
