West Wales secure stunning signing of Rangi Chase

Former Super League Man of Steel Rangi Chase has signed for League One outfit West Wales Raiders.

The 34-year-old joins from division rivals Doncaster where he signed in 2019 after a two-year drugs ban.

Chase will join rugby union great Gavin Hanson in the Raiders ranks for the 2021 season after his signature was confirmed by the club last month.

Having played over 200 first-grade games in Super League and the NRL, Chase brings a wealth of experience to the Llanelli-based club.

The Kiwi-born playmaker also has eight England caps and a Super League Dream Team appearance to his name.

In a promotional video to announce the signing on Twitter, Chase said: “Now I have the opportunity to come down and play for West Wales, I can’t wait to see you all at Stebonheath Park.

“I am really looking forward to it, I’ll be down there in probably a couple of weeks to train hard and do the best I can and hopefully make us climb up the ladder and give this competition a shake up.”
