The IMG grades have been revealed with Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull KR, Hull FC, St Helens and Catalans Dragons all picking up Grade A status.

But the focus was around Castleford Tigers. They missed out on the top 12 spots with a Grade B status behind the likes of Toulouse Olympique, Wakefield Trinity and Leigh Leopards.

However, their grading came after errors from the club and the RFL leading to plenty of questions. As the club explained the situation, their own fans hit back.

One fan took to social media said: “2.3 out of 4.5…right listen to your fans, cut the crap and look at the demographic you posed the question Orange vs Amber (Amber won) you want people to come to the games (you signed Radford and Last….) we the fans want a coach with potential, someone to shape the team!”

Another fan frantically worried about how long it would take to make the changes needed: “Why are the small improvements not happening during this off season? I’ll tell you why because you hoped you’d get away with a score that meant you wouldn’t have to spend a penny. Not good enough you are playing with the clubs future!!”

On top of this, another sensible point made was the fact that other clubs will likely work to improve. A good example would be Leigh Leopards who are being held down by their 12th place finish in 2021 in Super League: “All well and good but this is all relative. Other clubs will also look to improve their scores too.”

Another fan continued to fear for the club’s future: “The stadium issues have been going on since before Richard Wright was CEO we’ve been fed a load of codswallop about a new stadium, the amount of planning permission we have applied for is ridiculous & all the promises but none ever come to fruition!! Get your act together Cas.”

Another fan compared the club to the Titanic: “More chance of Titanic turning up in Southampton than achieving a grade A score. We’ve had years to make improvements to the stadium. Stop feeding the fans nonsense.”

Meanwhile, another fan said they deserve better: “Highest scoring part is Fandom. If that doesn’t scream we deserve better I don’t know what does. Get it sorted Cas for the sake of your LOYAL fans.”
