Rohan Smith was understandably disappointed by Leeds Rhinos’ defeat to the previously winless Castleford Tigers.
Speaking after the game on Sky Sports, Smith said it was “a good hard game.”
“It was a good hard game, a game with a few opportunities, dropped a few tries but in the second half we just didn’t give ourselves the opportunity.”
Smith would go on to give credit to the Tigers:
“It was a good hard game, I thought we had opportunity, towards the end there we had a chance that was even though we didn’t play very well at all there in the second half.
“Credit Cas, they came and didn’t allow us to play well.”
It was errors, certainly in the second half, that cost the Rhinos the game.
Smith believed so saying they couldn’t get anything to go their way:
“There were some critical fundamental errors and we couldn’t get anything to go our way. I’ll leave it there.”
Smith also confirmed that Harry Newman, who went off at halftime, was okay:
“He’s fine. Just a re-introduction focus and we have known for a while, from here on in I expect him to play 80 comfortably.”
Naturally he was asked about the impending departure of Kruise Leeming.
He said: “Go catch up with Gary and see what is going on.”
