“@WATTSY7890 could breathe on someone and would get a ban” – how social media reacted to Liam Watts’ two-match ban

Though Liam Watts escaped a ban for tripping against Hull FC, he could not avoid a two-match ban for the same offence against Wigan.

The Castleford Tigers forward was charged with a Grade B “intentional tripping” citation in just the first minute and will now sit out the Tigers’ trip to the Magic Weekend where they will face Salford as well as an away trip to Hull KR.

Watts wasn’t spoken to by referee James Child on the field, but he has been given the ban – much to the chagrin of many Castleford supporters.

One fan joked about Liam Watts’ breathing.

Watts has been unlucky according to one fan.

Another used an emoji to describe their feelings.

That sentiment was echoed by another supporter.

However, a neutral fan agreed with the decision.

And another said he had done it twice in succession.

One parody account had some fun with the news.
