Salford Red Devils Head Coach Ian Watson will work on their side’s kick defence following their defeat to Warrington Wolves.

It was a promising game for Salford, they led 10-8 going into half time thanks to two tries from Dan Sarginson. But conceded three second half tries in defeat.

Two of Warrington’s four tries came direct from kicks. One from Anthony Gelling and the other from Toby King.

Watson said: “Its something we spoke about at the back end of last season, because we had conceded a few from kicks.

“There was one, where Niall (Evalds) was caught out-of-position, so Rhys Williams went to try and cover him and Elliot (Kear) hadn’t realised that Rhys had gone, and then we conceded. That was the Gelling one.

“There are a few things we need to fix up on. But its good to have them issues now so we can tidy them up going forward.”
