Watch: Kruise Leeming crosses for first NRL try in signature fashion

Kruise Leeming has picked up his first NRL try today.

Sadly it came in a loss against the high flying Brisbane Broncos in a Queensland derby and his first loss in the NRL in his second game after playing in a win against the St George Illawarra Dragons last week.

This was a signature try from the hooker complete with a signature celebration from the former Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants hooker.

He started the move popping out of dummyhalf, the Titans then moved the ball left where a break was made.

Despite it being on the other side of the field to where Leeming started the move with a pass, Leeming, as all good hookers do, popped up back on the inside to take the offload and score to make it 36-20.

The hooker was clearly delighted and produced his signature celebration that we saw plenty of at Leeds as he saluted the crowd.

The Titans went on to lose 43-26.

Speaking last week after his debut, he said:

“Brilliant mate, it’s happened really quickly but for me it is the best way to get into it,” he said on the club’s website.

“I got off the plane and straight into it. Training has been really tough this week.

“So to go from that into a game and especially a win I couldn’t ask for anything better.

“It’s an unbelievable stadium, it is a brilliant surface. Crowd was fantastic, the weather was great. It was a good day for rugby and it was a great day to make my debut.”

He also joked about not knowing everyone’s names.

“I’m still getting round everyone. I have just about got round everyone at training and today. I am getting round everyone and I will get it done soon I’m sure.”

His preference at the end of 2023 is reportedly to stay in the NRL but he is open to a return to Super League with St Helens and Catalans Dragons linked with a move for the number nine.
