Watch: Incredible hit on legend Fuifui Moimoi by Castleford Lock Lane amateur

41-years-old but still playing semi-professional rugby league is an incredible feat.

But, for Fuifui Moimoi, who has over 200 NRL games under his belt as well as New Zealand and Tonga caps, going round again for Rochdale Hornets was an easy decision.

Upon signing his new contract with the Hornets back in 2021, chairman Andy Mazey was happy to say the least, saying: “We are absolutely delighted that Fui has decided to go round again with us.

“Fui put his hand up during the tough times this year when injuries and covid crippled us, often doing big minutes in the middle. He’s a brilliant character to have around the place and our young forwards can only learn from a truly iconic figure in the sport of Rugby League,” Mazey said.

At 41, he’s been there and done that, but he probably hasn’t been absolutely felled by an amateur playing for Castleford Lock Lane in a total mudbath.

Well, now he can tick that off the list as he stepped on the field for Rochdale against their amateur rivals in the Challenge Cup third round this afternoon.

And, it’s fair to say the good crowd at Castleford loved it, too.
