Saturday’s game between Catalans and Wigan was expected to be yet another battle for the England number one shirt as Sam Tomkins took on Zak Hardaker.
As the game wound down following the Dragons’ thrashing of the Warriors, Hardaker wasn’t in a very good mood to say the least.
Mathieu Laguerre had taken a run in, only to be met by four Wigan defenders. Unfortunately, Hardaker thought it would be a good idea to lift the Frenchman as Tomkins rushed in to halt him.
That led the Wigan number one to move his head towards his Catalans counterpart, only to then be met by a barrage of punches from Sam’s brother Joel.

“That led the Wigan number one to move his head towards his Catalans counterpart”…behave yourselves. He *headbutted* Sam, and Joel waded in to defend his brother. Hardaker was just mad that he had yet another lousy game. Honestly think Wigan need to drop him if they have the option (squad depletion means that they probably don’t though).
