Rob Burrow is a legend of Leeds Rhinos but more than that he is a legend of rugby league and certainly English rugby league.

Today, Shaun Wane’s England side will take on France whilst wearing a shirt that pays tribute to Burrow and the Motor Neurone Disease Association and raises money for the charity as Burrow continues to fight MND.

Now, the England squad have all paid their own one word tributes to Burrow.

You can watch it here:

This came as coach Shaun Wane made a wider tribute to one of his favourite enemies at Wigan Warriors.

He said:

“I’ve reviewed Leeds many, many times and he was always at the top of the list. Whether he played in the halves or he played in the nine, he was always an unbelievable ball carrier and very destructive,” Wane said of Burrow.

“He’s very sharp and was always a threat. I’m a big Rob Burrow fan and I always have been, and how he’s coping with his disease speaks volumes for him.

“How him and his family with the dignity they’ve shown and the humbleness has been fantastic and it shows you how caring our game is.

“We’re all one big family and we look after each other and this is another testament to that.”
