New Zealand Warriors have confirmed the loan agreement for young Sydney Roosters prop Poasa Faamausili has been extended.
The 24-year-old has been with the club on a temporary basis since the start of June, with his deal set to expire following this weekend’s game against Melbourne.
He will now, however, be allowed to stay with the Warriors for an extended period and provide much-needed depth in the forwards.
The Warriors’ interim head coach Todd Payten said: “Trent (Robinson) and the Roosters have been fantastic with their attitude towards us. They’ve agreed to keep Po in our system until they need him back, so he’ll be here as long as they are injury free.
“Po’s been really good. He’s an Auckland kid and fitted in really well and he’s pretty vocal around the group, which has been great.
“I can’t 100% confirm it’s (his loan) until the end of the season but he’s happy for the arrangement to continue. They (Roosters) can call him back whenever, that’s as much as I understand.”
