Swinton Lions have announced the signing of Morgan Burgess.
Burgess, who is 20 years old, played his junior rugby league at his local club Barrow Island. A former England Youth international, he was then signed by Warrington Wolves.
He also spent a period in 2022 playing at DR partners Widnes Vikings, and he now comes to the Lions with huge promise.
This comes as former Wigan Warriors hooker has signed a deal to remain at the club after starting out at Wigan and joining Swinton on loan in 2016 prior to making a permanent move.
The club have also confirmed the signing of half-back Jordan Gibson, who joins the club from North Wales Crusaders.
Swinton fans won’t need reminding of Jordan’s abilities, as he was a key factor in the Crusaders’ two victories at Heywood Road earlier this year.
30 years old Jordan is a native of St Helen’s, and emerged through the community game at Haydock ARLFC before signing professional terms with Crusaders.
One of the stand out players in League 1 over recent seasons, he will bring organisational and leadership qualities to the Lions’ 2023 squad.
The Leigh Miners Rangers young star, Andrew Badrock has also joined the club.
