Riley Dean is now with the Featherstone Rovers as the young Warrington Wolves man enjoys a season on loan at Post Office Road.
He made his debut yesterday as the Rovers beat Castleford 26-10 and Dean stood out in the triumph.
Speaking after the game he opened up on how much he is enjoying working with new Featherstone boss Sean Long and his former St Helens teammate Leon Pryce.
He said:
“Pretty much everything we saw, there is two exceptionally smart blokes teaching us everything they know. Young halfbacks coming through, couldn’t ask for anyone better.
“But we were more focused on defence, I feel like we did a good job on that. We went back to back on our own try line there and we only let in tries when we were a bit stupid. Through an intercept on inside shoulder which was a bit stupid.”
He was also impressed by new teammate and fellow new signing Thomas Lacans:
“It was great, the fans were class. A bit of a bogy pitch, but it was good to blow the cobwebs away.
“Thomas is class, especially running with the ball. He is a very smart player, but we need to be smarter and play the conditions sometimes and get a bit smarter with that.
“It was a good run out and we showed some good shape.”
