Warrington Wolves host Wakefield Trinity fresh off the back of their Las Vegas loss against Wigan Warriors and the squads have been announced.
Whilst for Wigan and rugby league generally, Las Vegas was an occasion to remember. For Warrington, it’s one that they will want to forget quite quickly with the 48-24 loss for the Wolves not even reflecting Wigan’s dominance.
After 60 minutes Matt Peet’s side were 42-0 up but let their foot off the throats of Sam Burgess’ side who ran in four late tries to restore some pride.
However, Warrington now face a new battle with former head coach Daryl Powell returning to the Halliwell Jones Stadium to seek his own vengeance.
It was actually a loss to Wakefield Trinity that marked the end of Powell’s reign but he now leads Trin as they look to respond following last week’s 26-6 loss to St Helens at Belle Vue.

Warrington have two major players missing out with their left-edge decimated as Matty Ashton and Toby King both drop out with union convert Alfie Johnson and Rodrick Tai returning. Tai had been on dual registration with Widnes Vikings but is recalled.
Ashton was seen to limp after his length of the field try that saw him lose his boot but it is unclear what the issue with Toby King is, though it’s likely that either Stefan Ratchford or Tai will replace him.
They are the only two changes made meaning that Lachlan Fitzgibbon came through okay despite suffering what looked like neck issues after a tackle from Liam Byrne early in the game.
Warrington Wolves squad: Jordy Crowther, Ben Currie, Matt Dufty, Lachlan Fitzgibbon, James Harrison, Adam Holroyd, Alfie Johnson, Oli Leyland, Arron Lindop, Zane Musgrove, Joe Philbin, Sam Powell, Stefan Ratchford, Dan Russell, Rodrick Tai, Cai Taylor-Wray, Josh Thewlis, Paul Vaughan, Danny Walker, George Williams, Luke Yates
