Warrington Wolves’ Danny Walker has responded to the departure of star signing Greg Inglis.
Inglis signed for the Wolves ahead of the 2021 Super League season but played just three games for the Cheshire club as an injury-ravaged year plagued any hopes of the Warrington faithful seeing the Australian veteran in full flight.
The former South Sydney Rabbitohs hero made all the headlines when he made a retirement u-turn and decided to join the Wolves for the 2021 season, but a hamstring injury suffered against Huddersfield Giants proved the killer blow in a potential fairytale ending.
Inglis and the Warrington club then mutually agreed to terminate his playing contract, though the 34-year-old did remain in a volunteer capacity to help with some of the youngsters in 2021.
And, now rising hooker Danny Walker has paid tribute to the Aussie, detailing how surprising it was for a local lad to be in such great company.
