Warrington Wolves star Matt Dufty’s shock discovery

Matt Dufty has taken to Super League like a duck to water, though he has had numerous problems since making the move.

His debut for the Warrington Wolves ended with defeat at the Huddersfield Giants and the fullback limping off near the end of the game, which meant that he missed Warrington’s 32-6 loss to the Wigan Warriors last week.

However, Dufty returned for Warrington’s clash against Toulouse Olympique – and Daryl Powell’s side was all the better for it with the former Canterbury Bulldogs star showing his class with some superb touches, including setting up George Williams for the deciding try.

After the game, however, Dufty revealed that he was unable to walk due to that foot injury sustained away at Huddersfield – and it’s a problem that has been bubbling below the surface for a great deal of time.

Now, with Warrington’s big 32-18 win over the French side last Thursday, the Wolves have stemmed the fear of relegation with four games remaining.

And, they head to the Leeds Rhinos on Friday night with Powell hoping to confirm Warrington’s status in Super League for another year as they get ready to build for a huge season in 2023.
