Warrington Wolves star Josh Charnley sends out defiant message following Challenge Cup exit

Warrington Wolves have hit a major slump in recent weeks.

After defeats to Catalans Dragons and St Helens, the Cheshire club have now lost to Wakefield Trinity twice in a week to compound new boss Daryl Powell’s misery.

Powell took over at the Halliwell Jones Stadium ahead of the 2022 season in a bid to win silverware, however, results have not exactly been forthcoming and the Wolves have now crashed out of the Challenge Cup, too.

That was Warrington’s first exit at the Sixth Round stage in ten years.

But, winger Josh Charnley – who has started the season like a house on fire – has sent out a defiant message on social media about the direction in which the club are heading.

Charnley posted on Instagram, saying: “Tough times never last, but tough people do. We ride the storm together!!”

Warrington now take on Hull KR this weekend in a bid to get back on the horse, but the Robins will be buoyed by their narrow win over the Leigh Centurions in the cup as they prepare for a home tie against the Castleford Tigers in the Quarter-Finals.
