Warrington Wolves signing admits he has admired the club from afar for some time

Josh Drinkwater is a Warrington Wolves player going into 2023 and has taken on the famous number seven shirt.

Today, he started his career with the Wire as he took part in his first pre-season training session under Daryl Powell and alongside fellow Catalans Dragons teammates Sam Kasiano and Gil Dudson as the Wolves prepare for a new season.

Meanwhile, Josh McGuire and Paul Vaughan have both also completed moves from the NRL.

After this session, Drinkwater spoke excitedly about the club and admitted he has respected them from afar for some time:

“It’s was good. A tough first session and a bit of ball in the hands stuff too.

“I’ve said before that this is a club I have admired from afar for a while now.

“I’ve been in Super League for a while now and whenever you come up against Warrington you know you’re in for a tough game, they’re a great club and once the opportunity came up to come over here I was very excited.”

He is also excited to be a home player at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in 2023:

“It’s a stadium you look forward to playing at and I can’t wait to have the fans cheering me instead of booing me.”
