Warrington Wolves are hunting new blood for 2023 – and one major name is set to make his way through the doors of the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
After being linked with the likes of Canterbury Bulldogs duo Matt Dufty and Paul Vaughan, the man set to sign is Wests Tigers forward Thomas Mikaele.
That’s according to The Mole at The World Wide of Sports who have reported that Warrington officials were present at the Magic Weekend Round at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.
The Wolves have been doing it tough in 2022 with a lightweight pack following the departure of stalwart Chris Hill, with 24-year-old Mikaele expected to bring in some much needed firepower.
Wests, meanwhile, want to to keep the bustling forward, but The Mole has reported that they are unable to match the three-year deal put on the table by Warrington.
If reports are true, Mikaele will be Daryl Powell’s first signing for 2023, but it also means that there will likely be an exit from the quota spaces at the Cheshire club if Dufty is expected to follow Mikaele across the world.
