Warrington Wolves have confirmed that seven of their emerging players will all head out on loan this week, as they look to find game time across the Championship competition.
Given that there is no round of reserves fixtures this weekend, there is a theme around Super League to send developing players out on loan.
Leeds Rhinos sent four men to local side Hunslet, and a further seven from Wire will be heading to the second tier.
Three of the seven are headed to Salford RLFC. Half-back Leon Hayes, centre Zack Gardner and prop Tom McKinney have all joined the Ryan Brierley-led club for this week’s game against Batley Bulldogs.
Elsewhere, the duo of Ewan Smith and Flynn Holden will join Goole Vikings, who face Cumbrian side Whitehaven. Smith featured in Challenge Cup action for Warrington against Goole last month, whilst Holden returns to Scott Taylor’s side for a second week running.
Hooker Ben Hartill, who also featured in the Cup win over Goole, scoring a try, will join North Wales Crusaders for this weekend’s tie with Keighley Cougars.
Lastly, a slightly longer-term loan sees prop Max Wood join Oldham RLFC for the next month.
Wood, 21, featured for the Roughyeds last week but that switch has been extended for the next few weeks as he looks to continue his development in the second tier.
