Warrington Wolves have confirmed that the injury to Arron Lindop is not as bad as first thought.
Lindop had to be helped from the field in Wire’s win over Catalans Dragons on Thursday following an “ugly” tackle from Guillermo Aispuro-Bichet.
The incident was put on report, and the young Frenchman will learn the disciplinary verdict later today.
Immediately after the game, there were severe concerns from boss Sam Burgess, with many believing Lindop had re-injured his ACL, something he has only just come back from.
Thankfully, that isn’t the case, and whilst Lindop is still set for a lengthy lay-off, the worst-case scenario hasn’t happened.
Lindop has injured both his medial knee ligament and his ankle ligament, and is expected to be out for around six weeks.
The news comes at a bad time for the club, who already have Toby King out injured, whilst Zack Gardner is out for the season following a shoulder injury against St Helens.
Cai Taylor-Wray is another unavailable, so the Warrington back line is significantly hampered ahead of their Magic Weekend fixture against Leigh this week.

The centre has sustained injuries to both his medial knee ligament and ankle ligament, with an estimated recovery time of approximately six weeks.
