Warrington Wolves release hilarious video promoting 2022 memberships

Warrington are widely considered the rugby league kings of social media thanks to a number of hilarious initiatives on Twitter often starring their mascot Wolfie.

But the hilarious video they released today to get more supporters to sign up for memberships ahead of the 2022 campaign starred someone a little more widely known in the shape of new Head Coach Daryl Powell.

The new Warrington boss is widely considered one of the finest coaches in Super League due to his ability to develop players which led to huge success at Castleford from 2013-21 as he led them to three major finals and a League Leaders’ Shield in 2017.

Expected to bring huge success to the Wolves in 2022, he was the focal point of the video released by the Wire to hopefully get as many fans on board as possible for the new era at the Halliwell Jones.

The video, which was released on Twitter, was captioned “Two new signings secured ahead of Monday’s Earlybird deadline!” whilst the video itself depicted Daryl Powell in a press conference announcing the aforementioned two new signings.

Powell said: “I’m pleased to announced these two new signings. We’re bringing one back from last year and another one we’re bringing back who’s had a few years away from the club.”

He then introduced people to Matt and Evie noting the passion Matt will bring in the stands and what Evie might bring despite her size. He then swiped away Evie’s sweets stating: “No sweets in pre-season.”

New signing Matt then stated: “Glad we got the deal done, I spent a lot of time talking to Daryl and listening to him about his vision.”

Of course Matt and Evie aren’t really new signings but have of course sealed their 2022 memberships with a huge season ahead of Warrington if Powell can replicate the success he brought to the Jungle over the last eight years.

Once again, the video typifies how forward thinking Warrington are as a club on social media constantly making eye catching videos raising the profile of the club and the competition.
